What is “Microplast”?

This is not the usual velcro, but a particular product called Microplast: 50 mm wide but only 0.4 mm thick.

Microplast is in fact very thin and makes you feel nothing when walking on the carpets, even if Aubusson or Kilim.

Microplast clings tenaciously to the interliner of the underlay and is extremely flexible and resistant.

How we prepare your non-slip underlay.

It should be cut to size slightly smaller than that of the carpet for which it is intended so that it does not show once it is placed under it: usually about 6-8 cm less than the size of the carpet.

The underlay has a thickness of 4 mm, rolls have a height of 148-150 cm,

Therefore large underlayers are obtained by joining the sheets with a 5 cm wide velcro; the result is still perfect.

With the velcro, non-slip underlays of any size are prepared without any stability problems.

Underlay sewn to the carpet is an operation that we do only on request.

Some customers have requested to fasten it to the carpet, for example to sew it on the back

We can do this in two ways:
1) By fixing squares of male velcro in various equidistant points along the entire perimeter, so the carpet will automatically attach itself to the underlay (photos 1 and 2). This operation is advisable for carpets of a certain size as it has a certain cost.

2) It can be hand-sewn to the carpet like the Chinese carpet (photo 3) for the entire perimeter, which is quite useless and expensive.
